Welcome to the Enchanted Village
The Craft
– an inherited form of witchcraft in which a Crafter possesses a specific
magical ability.
Crafter
– a witch, either male or female.
Cross-Crafter aka Crosser – a hybrid witch who has inherited two sets of
abilities. If a Crafter is born into a multi-Craft family, a Cross-Crafter will
inherit a Craft from each parent. Usually one ability is predominate and the
other recessive.
Halfcrafter
– A Crafter who is half-mortal and half-Crafter. A Halfcrafter is either a
mortal who has been adopted into the Craft upon marriage to a Crafter, or a
Crafter who has lost their magic by marrying a mortal and revealing their magic.
Halfcrafters have no powers but are
trusted with all Craft history, laws, and bylaws in order to help parent any
Craft children, and the mortal in the marriage will
adopt the spouse’s Craft classification, ie, Wishcrafter, Curecrafter etc.
Seeker –
a mortal who wants to become a Crafter.
The Craft Marriage Law: Upon marriage to a mortal, a Crafter has two
choices. One is to reveal his or her powers to the. In this case, the Crafter
will retain his or her Craft title, but will lose all magical abilities until
death do the couple part mortal (in essence becoming a Halfcrafter). The other
option is for a Crafter to keep his or her powers a secret from the mortal and
live a difficult life of magical subterfuge. Regardless of either choice, the children born from the union between a
mortal and Crafter will have full Craft abilities, inherited from the Craft
parent. It is up to the parents whether to disclose the power to the child.
